A Closer Look At The Tran Wedding

Our wedding wasn't a big spectacular event with 200 guests, but it was a intimate and very personal wedding that I put together in just a little over a month. Unlike a grand ball, I kept it simple and made sure to include a few things that were most important to us. We both decided that we were going to renew our vows during our 10 year anniversary, and at that time we will throw the wedding of our dreams. But our wedding that was held on December 15, 2012, did exactly what it was supposed to do, bring me and my man together for life. At the time of our wedding, I was actually 10 weeks pregnant with our first child together. My son Savian from a previous relationship, played a big part in the wedding as our ring bearer. It was the most happiest day of my life to know that we would officially be a family and be together forever. Here's a few of my favorite photos from our wedding day.

Even though I hate my face in the first picture, it truly shows how close my son and I really are with each other. Prior to Tony and I getting together, Savian was the only man in my life that I prioritized. He stood by my side at my worst moments, and comforted me until I was happy. I couldn't have been blessed with a better son to stand by my side especially on my wedding day. He felt every emotion I felt, and even cried when I cried. He loves his stepdad so much, and he will soon make an amazing big brother to his new baby brother or sister.

On the way into the ceremony held at Embassy Suites, I was literally a nervous wreck. I wasn't nervous to get married, but I was actually nervous to start crying because I knew that once I start, I wouldn't stop. When it was time for my bridal entrance, I had to pull my dad back for a second right before we walked into the door, because my heart was pounding out of my chest, and I felt the waterworks on the verge of exploding. Luckily, with a few ugly faces that I made trying to hold back my tears, I made it down the aisle to my Groom where he was also trembling on the verge of tears just like me.

We decided to write our own vows, because to us it just felt more personal. Like a monkey, anyone can repeat what the officiant says, but to write your own vows comes straight from the heart, and that's what we both wanted. The entire time I read my vows, I had to really fight with myself to not cry and to not have snot run down my nose from all the holding back I was doing. The whole time I was reading I was shaking, and every time I looked up at Tony, so was he. It was a magical moment to me to make those promises that I vow to keep my whole life.

When all was said and done, my man gave me the best kiss of my whole life. That's all I need to say about that.

The end of the ceremony was the best feeling of the whole day for me. Just knowing that the stress of the actual ceremony was gone and that I was now a wife, gave me the most complete feeling I've ever felt. I had my husband, my son, and my new baby with me for life. Dating is fun and so is being engaged, but there is just nothing like that first day of marriage. You can tell in this photo how much Tony and I really love each other. We really did go through leaps and bounds just to be together. Here's where I'll briefly touch on our back story. For those of you that don't know, Tony and I actually grew up in the same town in NJ and knew a lot of the same people. We were what you call acquaintances, and didn't really get to know each other on a deeper level for years and years. All that was until the summer of 2011. Mind you I moved to Vegas on July 28, 2011. I was actually "talking" to Tony's best friend during that summer, but when I came back to New Jersey to visit Tony asked me if I wanted to collaborate on some creative work, since I'm a photographer and he's a graphic designer. I never say no to people who really want to create with me so of course I decided to work with him. I went back to Vegas after a week of visiting NJ, and that's when Tony and I started working more and more with each other doing creative work. I was still talking to his best friend at the time, but all that changed once Tony decided he wanted to step in and pursue me. I guess there was something about me that he couldn't let go, because he actually ended up giving up his best friend to be with me. After that whole love triangle fiasco was over, Tony flew to Las Vegas to visit me and basically the rest was history. He went back home to NJ while I stayed in Las Vegas, and we pursued a long distance relationship with the help of the phone and Skype. I still kept making trips back and forth to NJ to visit until Tony made the big decision to come and live in Las Vegas to be with me. A year later, we end up married and are now expecting our first child. You know what they say, "True love prevails." I wouldn't have done it any other way. What we went through truly proves to me that if someone really loves you, they will do anything and EVERYTHING in their power to be with you.

I decided that I wanted to have our reception on a boat, because Tony is a Pisces and he truly has a connection to water. I have to tell you that the boat idea was the best idea I could've had. The best thing about the boat was that you and your guests were stuck on the boat, forced to engage and have fun with each other and freak out about being on a boat. When you have a party at a hall or an on land venue, at the end of the night your guests start trickling out and leaving one by one, but on the boat you party until the boat docks! My friends and family had a great time on the ship (of course open bar never hurts), and it was truly a memorable experience for all of us. The views from outside the boat were great and it was such a great feeling to feel the love from everyone on my special day.

I need to give a special thanks to my wedding party. Even though their duties weren't too strenuous, they were there for me and my husband and stood by us on our special day. That's something we will never forget for the rest of our lives, and for that we truly give thanks to you guys. Having you with us on that day made us feel special and loved. We had such a blast spending that time with you and we wouldn't trade it for anything. From our bachelor/bachelorette party at Rebounderz to the reception on the boat, you guys made sure we were taken care of and helped us get through our nerves. Let's do it again in 10 years! I truly love each and every one of you all, and you will always be our friends for life.

I also want to thank my family for being there for Tony and I, and playing a big part in making our reception so much fun! You guys can really take your liquor (except for me I'm drinking diet soda HAHA)! Thanks to my mom and dad for helping make our day, and supporting us through any decisions that we make in our lives. We truly appreciate you!

I LOVE this back shot of Tony and Savian. This simple picture shows me how great our family is, and how excited I am to grow it even bigger and bigger! I want a ton of kids with this man. He really cares so much about Savian and his well being, and is always there for us through everything and anything. A picture tells 1,000 words, but for me this picture gives me 1,000 happy emotions.

HERE'S TO FOREVER MY LOVE! To all of our friends who aren't married yet, we truly hope that you wait and find true undying love with someone special. I got asked, "How do you know you're ready?" The answer is, you know you're ready when there is no doubts, no questions, and the will to walk through hell and back with that one person. We wish you LOVE!

Unknown Abilities

I love art and all it's different forms. Ever since I was younger I always envied the people who were able to make cartoons, or animations of some sort. I admired the amount of creativity and imagination it takes to create such intricate designs. As fate may have it I ended up getting engaged to a graphic designer, so I suppose it was always my destiny to learn the art of illustration. This year my Fiance taught me how to use Adobe Illustrator, and I am truly amazed at how fast I was able to learn and apply myself. I look at my finished illustrations and I feel a sense of pride for myself because I've accomplished something I've always wanted to do. Now that I understand how designing and creating on the computer works, I hope to further push myself into creative realms that I've never even dreamed of. I'm so thankful to God for allowing me to see my unknown ability, and allowing me to really excel to show others that I can do it too. Here's some of the pieces that I've completed so far. Enjoy!
