Bring the Spirits UP

dress: Target Gossip Girl collection, oxfords: Joyce Leslie, bag: Aldo, leather jacket: vintage

Obviously this shot was taken in Toronto in our hotel room & in the lobby. I miss it a lot. It was a vacation that was soooooooooo needed. I actually feel like I need another one right now! My life has been disgustingly hectic lately due to me and my son starting school, work changes, and the usual struggles of a single mom. I need to see the light at the end of the tunnel soon before I lose my friggen mind.

JUST BREATHEEEEEEEEEE.

love YOU

So I'm back from Toronto and I just wanted to address a recent issue that has been bugging me to the core ever since I heard about it. I'm sure you all heard about the supposed "scandal" that happened with Ashley Graham and her commercial for Lane Bryant that got banned from ABC because it was "too much" for them to handle.

First of all that is complete BULLSHIT. As a curvy woman I am extremely offended by this entire situation. Do they mean to tell us that Victoria Secret models at a size 0 can flaunt their almost naked bodies on TV but the bustier, curvier, sexier woman at a size 14 can't? What kind of a message are these people giving to woman, teenagers, and children in this country?

I just want to tell everyone out there, big, small, tall, short that your size DOES NOT determine whether you are sexy or good looking. What makes a person SEXY or HANDSOME or GORGEOUS is their confidence, the confidence to embrace who you are inside and out and be proud to show others that. For people that don't know, the average size of women in the USA is a size 14. For woman out there that are bigger than a size 6 (like myself), embrace the fact that you have more to share. Find the look that's best suiting and appropriate for you, and that will determine your level of appearance or sexiness. A curvier woman can be just as sexy as one thats a size 2 if not MORE.

These people at the TV stations that have this kind of power should be portraying a more positive message other than a discriminatory one. It's seriously insane at the kind of perception they try to implant into people's minds. Why wouldn't you want to target an audience where more people can relate instead of envy? Who is anyone to judge what isn't beautiful? Just sayin...

Enough with the politics, here's a few shots of me from last Saturday from my last night in Toronto. We went fishing off the Toronto Island and to my surprise it just ended up getting colder and colder. On the one day I decide to wear a skirt the whole city just freezes up! Whatever I still looked good so I guess it doesn't matter. I had an amazing time, and I am so grateful that I have a man who is willing to show me the world. Stay tuned for my Toronto Street Style post.

Toronto Air

I wanted to update my readers on what's going on with me and my mini vacation to Toronto, Canada. I haven't been here since I was a child, but let me tell you, the buildings and the streets look extremely similar to those of NYC, but the people look SO different! Not necessarily in a bad way, but I kind of expected the fashion to be a bit more up there than what it is. There is a clear difference in clothes from day to night. During the day, everyone just looks average and regular, and at night thats when the hippies, fashionistas, and partyers come out. It's pretty cool. Here's a few shots of what I wore today.

Here's a quick glimpse of what Biggz wore.

And of course the beautiful city of Toronto.

It's sad I'll only be here till Sunday =[. Going fishing tomorrow YAY! Till tomorrow... or next time =]

Fashion In the Office

These are my new babies! I went crazy yesterday and the day before shopping around central New Jersey and these are my favorite pair of shoes out of the 5 pairs that I bought. I got these from Charlotte Russe (which I rarely even shop at) for a whopping $40. When I walked into the shoe section and saw these boots, I knew I HAD to have them. I was incredibly anxious waiting for the sales person to check if they had them in my size (which is a size 10 btw, I know I have pretty big feet LOL). When she walked out with them I was like YESS! and I already knew I was going to buy them before I tried them on. Something about the masculinity about them just screamed at me. If you would like to purchase your own pair of these awesome lace up boots you can get them

HERE..

I'm leaving for Toronto today with the Boyf. I CAN'T EVEN TELL YOU HOW EXCITED I AM TO HAVE A VACATION! It's been so damn dramatic lately and I feel overworked and annoyed so this vacation couldn't have come at a better time. Although its only a Thursday-Sunday vacation, I think at this point one day of silence would be good enough for me. Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Confessions Of A Front Seat Driver

I don't know about you guys, but for some odd reason, I like taking pictures in my car. It gives me this weird sense of control I guess because there are mirrors in every corner and you can decide which angle is the best one LOL weird I know. I figured that I would share some of my front seat photos with my readers, and just a 'by the way' in most of these pictures, my son is riding in the back seat even though he isn't captured in some of them haha. Enjoy!

I hope you all have the most amazing Labor Day weekend!
